Brittany Packnett, in addition to directing Teach For America in St. Louis, is a well-recognized leader of a growing movement for social justice and racial equity (you can follow her online at @MsPackyetti). So perhaps it’s no surprise that she finds herself and her colleagues the target of maligning attacks and conspiracy theories.
But she’s setting the record straight this once and then she’s done with the “easy” cop-out of bickering about adult issues.
Let’s be clear: Children deserve more than what is easy. They, along with marginalized communities across this country who continue to suffer from police violence, poverty and oppression, require that we get beyond what’s easy—the harder work of making change.
