Today in New York City, tens of thousands of parents, educators and students rallied to protest a lack of quality schools for their children and demand more financial support of charter schools.
The Don’t Steal Possible Rally, a campaign led by parent-organizing group Families for Excellent Schools, not only drew attention to the voice of these parents on the streets, but also through social media.
The event’s hashtag, #dontstealpossible, even became a top trend on Twitter during the event.
