Carla Theodorou is the founding principal of a new Career & Technical Education (CTE) school; Benjamin Franklin High School for Finance & Information Technology (BFIT), which opened in the 2014. Theodorou was also the founding principal of The Metropolitan High School in the Bronx, which opened in 2005; managed a private English Language school for six years; and, taught English as a Second Language for K-12 and adults for over 15 years.

She is a New York City native who earned her B. A. in English literature and M. A. in teaching English as a Second Language from Hunter College, C.U.N.Y. She later attended Teachers College, Columbia University and received her Ed. M. and Ed. D.; both in organizational leadership.
