Effective September 17, 2018, Education Post Executive Director Peter Cunningham will take a temporary leave of absence from the nonprofit organization he founded in 2014 to work on the political campaign for Bill Daley who is running for mayor of Chicago.
“I’ve always believed that the parents, kids and teachers who have the most at stake in the movement to improve schools deserve a platform to have their voices heard,” said Peter Cunningham, founder of Education Post. “I am encouraged by the growing number of voices who have entrusted Education Post as a platform to share their experiences in our schools and have confidence in members of the Education Post staff and blogger network who will continue to celebrate successes and advocate for the reforms needed to give every kid a fair shot at a great education.”
Gordon Wright, who has worked with Education Post since its founding, will serve as acting executive director in Cunningham’s absence. Cunningham will remain closely involved with the organization in an advisory capacity.
